LAKE AND GROUNDS RULES

1)  The lake and grounds are private property owned by the Deer Run Recreation Corporation (DRRC) and are to be used by DRRC members and member guests only. Guests are allowed but must be accompanied by a member. Overnight houseguests needn’t be accompanied provided that the DRRC Building and Grounds or Lake Committees have been notified. Violators will be prosecuted.

2)  The lake and grounds are available for use by DRRC members from sunrise to 9:00 PM. The access gate to the lake and grounds will normally be locked except when facilities are in use. Members may obtain a key from the Membership Committee Chairperson.

3)  All wheeled vehicles must be kept on driveways or the parking lot. Careless or reckless operation of motor vehicles including motorcycles will not be tolerated.

4)  Members and member guests may use the picnic area only for private gatherings of family and friends. The sponsoring member of a guest must be an adult homeowner and must be on the property during the event. The sponsor is responsible for the actions of all guests including any damages that occur to DRRC property. The area must be thoroughly cleaned after use and the grounds must be vacated by 9:00 PM. Contact the Building and Grounds Committee to reserve the picnic area for special occasions and private gatherings.

5)  The lake shall be used for fishing and boating. Swimming and wading are not allowed. Only electric motors shall be permitted or operated upon the lake to propel boats of not more than fourteen (14) feet in length. Sailboats and canoes are permitted but homemade rafts are excluded. Personal flotation devices (PFDs) must be available on board for each person in the boat.

6)  After using the boat ramp, move vehicles to a clear area so that others may have access to the ramp area. The docks may be used for fishing or temporarily docking boats. Boats are not allowed to remain at the DRRC docks or on the DRRC grounds overnight.

7)  Do not discard trash, rubbish, grass clippings or other debris into the lake. Property owners adjacent to the lake should ensure that the area of land between the high and low water marks is kept free from debris. During periods of high water, any debris in the area tends to become dislodged, float away and eventually clog the lake outflow drain.

8)  Those using the facilities owned by the DRRC do so at their own risk. Users must abide by the rules and regulations, which apply and are responsible for any damage or vandalism which they cause. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children know and observe the rules.
